With the gear in tuffy box have you addressed heating issues? A small computer fan can make a big difference.

The area that the radios are mounted are not sealed, probably a half inch gap all around top, bottom is deep. It is a bigger cavity than I thought. I was going to put a fan and thermostat but it seemed like it has a lot of flow. The Standard had a fan on the bottom HS already.

On my early GMRS repeaters, I would put a 109°f switch epoxied to the heat sink of the tx radio wired to a computer fan. Worked good. But my last repeater uses a id-o-matic 4, wow, what a bunch of features. I have it set to turn on a fan when tx'ing and turn off after 15secs of idle.

This is a solar powered pack, dual band (and extended freqs for GMRS) USB smart charger, 12v plug, 110vac 400w inverter. All in a pelican case.

See switch on top of radio control

Howdy! Fellow ham out of NM...

My rule of thumb... Username is my call sign. Highly unlikely it'll be taken. I don't have to think too hard and risk a short hihi

That is fine and dandy until you change to a vanity callsign.

Anytone 6666 with a Boomer 250 in the back and a Sirio fighter for 10/11 meters. TYT dual band and glass mount for vhf/uhf. Really need to do something about all the fuel pump noise in the hf rig! S3 to S4 all the time!

Yes why blank out the state, all they have to do is type the callsign in the search bar and it gives up the ghost.

W6PEA, here. I had my radio in my 95 Ford F-250 and another in my 05 Fleetwood Jamboree motor home and my wife had her radio mounted in her 92 b150 Ram Van.
I need to mount rig in my Ram 2500 and the other radio in my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee. But have not got around to setting them up.

Great looking install. Some ideas for mounting my Icom radios in my Ram 2500 and our Jeep Grand Cherokee.
