How does a bazooka tube sound in a jeep?

my friend installed a bazooka tube in his car and it sounds nice. great bass but not overpowering. does a bazooka tube sound good in a jeep since the trunk is open? What one would you reccomend between RCA, Audiobahn and Bazooka?

Down-firing is the way to go in a topless Jeep, and the Bazooka fires to the side. Not a huge deal, but you may lose a bit of sound and volume topless at highway speeds (not like there's much you CAN hear then...)

Infinity and Kenwood also make powered sub models, and a lot of them can actually fit in small spaces and sound decent.

There's no way of telling how it's going to sound until it gets in there. Find a local place that has a "try before you buy" type of program and crank it up.

I got a Jeep, it's lifted and it's got crap bolted to it.

If you do a bazooka tube ( would pick bazooka simply b/c they offer replacement woofers if you blow it), don't center it in the trunk space. Put the woofer firing as close to the side of the tub as possible. The vibration will carry through the tub, if you center it you will lose some of the vibration to the open air. A tonneau cover can help prevent losses of sound too. Look at all the small portable enclosure options including the JL Stealthbox or the select increments pod that hooks to the tailgate (you'll need a separate amp tho).

Bazooka Tube

I have a bazooka tube in my TJ and I love the way it sounds. I have the 10" tube with the built in amplifier. I installed it myself and it was pretty easy to do. It has been in my TJ for 6 years, has gotten wet many times and still sounds great. For the money, install ease, and sound, I would recommend the bazooka tube.

Where's your tube?

Bought an '95 YJ and the only place (safety and sound vibrations) I can put it is in the back of the jeep. Am I missing other places?

If you go topless, you won't hear it. Otherwise it can sound OK. It all depends on what you are trying to achieve and your audio needs. I would recommend at least a 10" Sub.

just4effect 10" single sub, enclosure and amp 4 sale. PM me if interested, local only
