There are many mounts on the market. Some mount on the side of the center console, some mount above the rear view mirror. It's all a matter of personal preference.
I used Quadratec's quick-release bracket on the side of the console.

Rugged Ridge bracket over the mirror was where I mounted a full size CB and a dual band ham rig.

Now I have a Cobra 75WXST that is mounted in the overhead tray of my cage and the Ham rig is mounted under the dash with the remote head up on the cage.

When i had my JK , i had mine mounted above rear view mirror. Used L brackets and rubber coated wire hangers on the U shaped metal bracket by top. Easy to hide wire behind trim.

The Cobra 75 is quite popular with many of the local JK/JL Wrangler owners. The box is typically mounted under the passenger side of the dash with the mic run out from under/behind the dash and clipped near the center console/dash/grab bar for easy access. The power wires can easily be run through a foam filled pass through just behind the end of the dash right to the battery and an external speaker can easily be ran behind the trim pieces up between the visor and rear view mirror.
