Audio setup for 06

Its about time for my audio to get an upgrade. It still has the oem stereo in it.
After a lot of research, i decided on a nice pioneer stereo.
There is a mod you can do to fit 5.25 speakers in the front. I am also planning on adding 6.5 on the soundbar. Any recommendations as to what 5.25 and 6.5 speakers to get?
I am planning on getting a nice 5 channel amp.

It's real hard to beat Polk's DB series of speakers, they have those sizes and from first-hand experience they sound great. They also have the right Sensitivity specification, 90 dB, which means they will have more than enough volume with the watts available from your new Pioneer head unit. Most speakers have lower Sensitivities which means they require more power to sound good than a head unit like the Pioneer can put out.

When you have a choice, buy American made.

Thanks Jerry. I think I'm going to go with the Polk Dbs. Im going to put 5.25s in front and 6.5s in the bar. Best part is that they are pretty cheap at around 50-60 dollars including shipping.
Thanks for the reply.

I think you'll like them a lot. On the 6.5" for the rear, I know that size fits the 2002 and older TJ sound bar without any modifications. However I have read a couple times that the 6.5" doesn't fit the sound pods used in 2004 and newer TJs without modifications. You may want to confirm if that 6.5" will fit your sound pods, I know 5.25" is a direct fit for the newer sound pods like you have.

When you have a choice, buy American made.
