2018 Sahara JL. Left rear tail light goes out after 5 to 10 minutes with the engine running. it goes out then comes back on after a few seconds then goes back out and back on until going out and staying out. shut the engine off and immediately comes back on. then the cycle starts all over. with the engine off it stays on until it times out. Replaced or switched around all of the HI PWR 8474 relays but did not change anything.
All of the lights on the Jeep are independently controlled by the TIPM. You could try resetting it by disconnecting the battery for 5 mins.
My dad had a Ram a couple years ago that had all sorts of wonky lighting issues that were only eventually fixed by replacing the TIPM.
Hi maintman40,
We'd suggest visiting your local dealer for diagnosis, as they're in the best position to assist. If you'd like an additional layer of support alongside them, feel free to send us a PM.
Went out and bought a $40 diagnostic tool, plugged it in and it came up with a code. Cleared the code and it seems to have fixed it. Left it running with the lights on for longer than it had lasted up till now and light did not go out! Yay!
