UK Grand CRD

Well after 14 years of WJs its time to move on. Picked up a nice condition 2007 CRD Overland, full history, everything works (dangerous statement) even the sat nav radio.

First job this weekend was underseal the rear end as it was looking a bit brown :-/

Next job is to swap out the headunit for something more modern, may get a Kenwood DAB nav unit. And even though it has the history I am going to get a full service done and the antifreeze & brake fluid changed. Then a GDE map will be on the cards

Okay, radio install time. Got to get this rats nest all connected up!

IMG_20171023_151640571 by Old_Chad, on Flickr

Went through the instructions on the CHT0-01 adaptor, connected up stuff (look away if you hate speed connectors in looms) I will solder once I have it all working, honest. End up with the following

IMG_20171023_162855213 by Old_Chad, on Flickr

Always a good sign!! All the speakers make noise in the right corners, Nav works, radio works, just the DAB ariel to fit and program the steering wheel adaptor.

And its in and working

Not 100% happy with the USB location, its down by my knee, think I may install a panel usb port somewhere in the dash. Bit dark when I finished, need to get some LED bulbs installed next

Very easy, light rub down with a wire brush and spray on this stuff, used 2 cans around the spare wheel area, and another 2 cans down the sides of the underside of the jeep, not done the front end yet

Very easy to do, just wear old clothes, goggles, dust mask, gloves and a hat, the stuff gets everywhere and is a pain to scrub off! I didn't wear gloves and had undersealed hands for a week
