Tire question

Hello everyone. I have a ‘10 GC laredo with 245/65R17. A friend gave me his wrangler tires, 255/75R17. I called a place to have them swapped onto my rims and they told me those tires would fry my transmission. Any one know if this is true or are they just trying to sell me tires. Thank you!!

haha, never heard of a tire shop that was also a bunch of tranny experts. You're going up to 32's so first you need to be able to clear them. Otherwise no, it's not going to burn up your transmission. Just puts more wear and tear on because well they are bigger tires.

Ok, yeah I had them on and they cleared, only problem is the wrangler rims go in and hit the calipers. So i just need them transferred to my rims. Awesome, thank you!!

Spacers might get them to clear and be less likely to hit when turning.

CJ5 we don't talk about, 58 Willys CJ-3B gone
79 J-10 gone, 99 GC WJ murdered and gone
