Please help me! 04 GCL 4.0L

My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 is no crank no start. The battery & starter are good. It turns over and all the lights come on but it doesnít crank at all. What could it be? I have heard that it might be a bad CPS or ignition switch. Iíve checked the starter relay & all fuses too.

I had a similar problem when the cam position sensor broke.

confusing.

You describe "It turns over and all the lights come on but it doesnít crank at all."
turning over and cranking are the same.

You turn the key, the engine rotates spins (turns over /cranks) correct?

Of course you should look at CODES.
Maybe check fuel pressure. With a gauge post PSI.
Is there 12v at coil and injectors?

Try this - as someone tries to start jeep, spray carb cleaner into TB - did the engine fire and try to start on the spray - Yes or No ?

PS I do not think its the computer.

When I see the price of OEM I think aftermarket.
When I see the quality of aftermarket I think OEM.

One other thing. My code reader did not show the cam position sensor as being bad. My moms mechanicís reader did show it, and they replaced it for a mere $150.00. Although most mechanics would charge three or four times more.

You can get a bad one. or one that works for about 20 minutes and then dies. Thatís why we work on these things ourselves. You need to learn to turn a wrench unless you have a lot more money than sense!

:lol you WILL go broke if you donít work on them yourself. I have a hybrid method. The stuff too involved or i canít figure out, I pay... most repairs on the WJ are labor intensive, with parts costing just a few bucks.
things got a lot better since I got my Honda... I still have transportation if either car is down.
