Alighty then first thing up I am going to be upgrading the entire audio system and needed to start with a new head unit.

Goodies delivered Thanks Crutchfield

Went with a Pioneer MVH-X560BT. Its a media receiver ( means no cd player ) and opted for added support for steering wheel controls via Pac SWI-RC
other components included wiring harness and bezel.

Finished up pre wiring the head unit wire to adapter harness as well as the pac wheel controller ( more on this little devil later )

Got the same head unit on my 02 Sport. Bluetooth connection is lightning fast! Looking forward to your build, might inspire me to take some pics of my own.

I wish I had radio controls. Can I add it to my Jeep even though I don't have them from the factory?

I think you have to have them from the factory. As you don't have the hardware that the unit has to sync with.

Where did you connect the ground wire? I'm trying to do mine but I cant find a place to do it because everything in the dash seems to be plastic

when you disconnect the factory radio there is a black wire and spade connector attached to the back of the radio. i just cut the factory connector off pulled the sheathing back and butt connected the headunit harness and the pac steering wheel controller all together. ill make sure to get you a picture this weekend of it all.

Got mine installed today (sorry no pics). Did you have any issues with the SWI-RC? I get the flashing lights that confirm it was programmed, but the steering wheel controls still don't work.
