Recurring noise from the engine in 2011 JKU
I've had my mechanic and my local dealer check my Jeep. I had the belt tensioner changed, as well as the pulley and the belt. Still, it is making a strong squeaking noise that can be heard from inside the cabin. Also heat can be felt in the driver's seat from down below (left, under the steering wheel).
Open the hood while the squeaking is going on and try to locate where it's coming from. Spraying water on the serpentine belt while the engine is running will at least temporarily quiet a slipping belt if that's the cause. If the noise is coming from the front of the engine, other than the belt the noise could also be coming from the alternator, air conditioning compressor, power steering pump, idler or tensioner pullies (there are normally two, not just one), water pump, or cooling fan.
