Need Help Identifing Axle Stub Shaft

So I am in the process of replacing my front axle U-joints. Unfortunatly in the process I broke a part of the splined collar that goes around the short yoke

insert imaginary pic that I can't upload cause my post count is too low...

The replacements that I am looking at do not have this.

insert another imaginary pic...

I hope you guys can figure out what I'm saying with the less than stellar description.

What is this splined collar for? Can I just replace it without one?

Thanks for helping a newb with his first TJ, picked it up last week and getting it up and ready for summer!
Thanks

The splined collar is an ABS tone ring for that wheel sensor. If your Jeep has ABS and you wish to keep it in working order, you'll need another tone ring.

If you do find yourself in need of a replacement and wish to buy new, they are part number 4728984.

There's a good chance it can, provided the parts in question are the same dimensions as stock.

Thanks for the help... ended up pulling a stub shaft from the junk yard that had one. Knocked it off and swapped them out. Works great!
