XJ a hot item ? Value of renix XJ's today

I just sold a 90 XJ that was sitting under a tree for years for $450, more than my asking price. I sold it in less than 24 hours and the guy gave me the money before looking at it. It didn't run, engine was leaking coolant out of the frost plug- that's why it was parked.

Did I give it away or what ? Heres a pic..

I got a 89 I want to sell as well.. but I want 2,000 for it, because I think I could part it out for that much on the good stuff I have on it. Whats it worth and what are the parts going for today ? It runs and drives.. d44 rear with disc brakes, d30 front with locker, 4.0 with upgraded injectors and headers, auto trans, 231 t/c, copper 3 row radiator, not sure what else..

"on Paper" your 89 sounds Highly Desirable. Apparently those d44 rear ends are hard to find and very well built. AND... your front end is probably the higher desirable "High Pinion D30" plus you have a Locker in It.

Thank You,
Bo

Yes, I’m trying to figure out how much they are going for(the d44). The front hp30 is a good one, but they are common. They came in every xj up to 2000 I believe

I used to sell XJ D44's for $5 - 700, plus shipping. I can't find them anymore. High pinion D30 ran thru 1999, 2000-01 XJ are low pinion. IMO non vaccum disconnect D30 are better/worth more.

All XJ Cherokee D30 were high pinion until 2000. XJ Cherokee 1990 and before were built the with vacuum disconnect, NP242 transfer case always had a non-disconnect axle. Jeep used leftover disconnect axles in early 1991 production but those were transition vehicles, most 1991 XJs did not have vacuum disconnect.
