I forgot I knew that. I remember watching a video on it.
Something like this makes me wonder who or how this was figured out.
I have a theory.
So a guy is going for hike in the woods and applies that stuff.
Did it in front of his car and accidentally oversprayed onto his headlights.
Says oh **** and wipes it off really quick with his shirt sleeve.
And then notices that it has some effect on his clouded headlight covers.
Sound good? LOL.

Makes me wonder too, because although it did a good job on my headlights, all in all I've ruined more plastics with Deet than I've restored.

My local Walmart has some in stock. $5.76
I Googled it to make sure it still contains the Deet.
I might try that instead.
Or not.
Seeing how I have everything I need in stock to do it the hard way. LOL.
Of course I could just spend the $5 it probably cost me at my store and buy a new one.
But what would be the fun in that. MLOL.

You might consider another option . I've found Scratch Out to do a good job of clearing 'clouded' lens , quickly .

I did two vehicles in about 20 minutes time , with excellent results , our Envoy and our Monaco motor home .

Neither was real bad to begin ( just starting to cloud - kin of yellowed ) and both turned out very nice .

The yellow is gone and clear plastic is left .

This is what I used :

Goes around,comes around .
4WD gets one farther from help before getting stuck/breaking down.

Finally back in another Cherokee after I foolishly let my other one go bout 5 years ago. Gave 1000 bucks for it, 4.0 5 spd 4wd. Needed a new battery, rockers and some floor pans. Anybody got some tips on changing them?

I guess I should put this here, already got my new batt in, if you've never used/heard of this brand I highly suggest looking into them, they're a bit pricey but definitely worth it.

One thing to keep in mind with the headlights, a lot of times the yellowing is a burnt pancake of bug guts. I use a fine polishing compound that I have on hand from my buffing days
It's not for everybody, but using your fingernails works like the perfect scraper. You can sheer the crust off without damaging the lens. Any scratches you might make are easily removed with whatever you're buffing it with.
I would guess the Deet would just be like a clear coat, like using hairspray. Which eventually becomes it's own baked crust.

Nice battery. I can't quite make out the writing on those terminal blocks. Are they an add-on? I like the concept but would be nervous having a big exposed positive buss bar.

Looks like the water pump is leaking after about 30,000 miles with an unknown brand the PO had installed. I was happy to find out that Mopar pumps for an XJ are less than half the price of one for a TJ, for some reason. I ordered the Mopar pump and gasket for under $60.

The battery is an xs power d3400 ( I had to do just a little trimming in the battery box sense it was a hair wide) and the terminals are add ons, youncan get this style or the standard top post/side post or even both. This style just makes it easier to add more accessories

I bet that eject button can be painful with an XJ. I only use those on my TJ's with the top off.

So I tried to take a picture for you guys but I could not get a shot that would portray exactly how bright the lights are.
Trying to do it from inside the Jeep was too dark. Outside they actually looked brighter in the picture then they were.
Vast improvement.
Even viewing behind me through my privacy glass I could see much more then I could with the Zevo's.

Try taking a picture from the back of your Jeep showing the difference in how much light it shines. Wonít have to worry about glare
