My black stripe is either rotting away in the scrap yard or long been crushed at this point. Yours is looking good though!

Took it wheeling over this past weekend. Drove 4 hrs both ways after wheeling decently hard. It's definitely time for my rocktrac to get installed though. Standby for the build thread update.

Just been driving mine everyday. Monday it goes into the shop to get my adjustable UCA's put on and an alignment. I also have some front end "looseness" he is going to take a look at. Thing sort of floats around on the rd. Not sketchy or dangerous just like, "whoa, I didn't move the steering wheel but I'm drifting" sort of thing.

My front wheels are toed in too much after I changed the ball joints and hubs. I didn't get it aligned after I did that until I put the UCA's on.

Used mine to help get my safe into the basement the other day. That safe weighs in at 1600 lbs. Definitely wouldnít have gotten it down there without the winch.

Did we inspire some users to come back in here? Hope so, I’ve got a build going and need help!!!

Anxiously awaiting mine to return from new floor and motor mounts. Then we will be dialing in suspension, installing interior, exhaust, and hopefully before the snow flies, rebuild this transfer case or install a different one.

There are more than you'd think lurking around waiting for an interesting comment to jump on. Just post up as you get to things.

At this point it's kinda nice to see some of the simple questions come up and help out a new member. It's been slowly growing back. Before you know it Luke95 will be filling threads with wheeling pics and converting all the newbs to radicals😄

Lol, Iíll still talk to him and see him all the time. I geared the ford tons under his current 2 door. He was sending me pics and videos last night.

So I just signed up for this website/forum today, including paying the 30 bucks to upgrade my membership level. We're slowly going to be doing some clean-up/cosmetic work on what was my mother-in-law's 97 XJ. Hopefully I'll find a person or two still here to chat with as we move along.

Welcome!

Feel free to ask anything, there are a few of us around. Few things I always tell people:

Don't be afraid of search. Google, youtube, forum search here, NAXJA, r/CherokeeXJ, and many others. XJ's are wildly popular and people love modifications, fixes, and restorations. Most common jobs or problems you'll run into have been documented to death, often with step by step picture laden threads or videos.

Make a build thread of your own where you take pictures and detail out what you do. It adds to the documentation for the community, but it also gives you a log of your work so when you can't remember what you did or what parts you used you've got it down in writing and dated.

Have a little fun with it. Even if it's not your car, projects should be enjoyable. There are a ton of little upgrades you can do with these to make them more comfortable or utilitarian.

I remember Aircruiser and a few others. And all the 16 years olds wanting to know if 40s would clear stock suspension and me asking of Rough Country is really THAT bad bc I was (and am still) broke...

And speaking of stupid questions, nasty little vibration and some noise on deceleration post-lifting 4”....is this indicator of needing a t-case drop?
