Took a picture yesterday on the way out of work of the 2-door (shh, this wasn't just an excuse to test my phone's wide angle lens)
Then tried to do donuts and decided the Spicer Trac-lok in this one is not nearly as good at donuts as the Detroit True-trac in my 4-door, but for the price, eh, I'll live. Still does good burnouts though, but looking forward to the eventual supercharging...

Tracked down my loud clunk in the front end to my 2 month old, new Moog track bar. The clunk just started after installing longer lower control arms. I guess it's time to upgrade after I take it back for a refund.

UPDATE! I was wrong. Installed new track bar and still have a loose clunk noise when turning occasionally (every 5 or 6 turns). Sounds like something is really loose and makes a loud banging noise. I can't see anything loose or wrong. I guess I will wait until something falls off.

Drove mine to the pizza place last night. Finally cooled off a little bit and wanted to take it for a spin just because. Also needed a break from doing gears in a JK. Do all JK owners have a fascination with mud? Or just most of them...

I took my '98 XJ in to get the A/C filled. Thursday I bought a non running '00 XJ. A bit better body, at least when I get a good front clip parts. I looked at another in NE KY. A project. Not running, interior stank, I passed on it. Long drive.
Saturday and Sunday I worked on my 'new' XJ. Mainly, new hoses, replaced water pump and clutch fan with some slightly used parts I had. The lower hose was put on wrong. Also, mended the battery cables, and a new battery. It turned over OK, but no running. I replaced the TPS as there was a code. No luck. Replace it with a new one, not MOPAR. No luck. I did put on the coil pack correctly, before that and the connector.
Sunday, I notice the injectors were cracked. Just the plastic covers. I took a set of Bosch 12 holes I had and put them on the other XJ. It had Ford 4 holes in it. I had adapter for that. Then I took the Ford 4 holes to the '00. Connectors don't work. The 12 holes would have, without an adapter. I got another set of 12 holes for the '00 coming.
Monday I got home late and started up the '98 XJ. I smelled gas. I cut one of the o ring while installing the injectors. I replaced them Tuesday night. I want to see if the 12 holes give better MGP as claimed. It does seem to run smoother and possibly a bit better power.
I've been waiting to fill the A/C for a year or so. I still have a stroker motor to assemble. It will now go into the '00 or '88 Comanche as previously planned. I'll swap parts from the '98 to the '00 later. Then sell off the '98. I will probably reduce the lift from 4.5 to 3.5.

So how about this for some way to bright bump stops.
Probably should have painted them. LOL.
Both sides are done now.

So I got my rebuilt alternator back from my guy.
He says just under 155 amps.

So I figure I would start trying to mock up for the battery cable upgrade.
At the moment thinking about going with a 1/4" 45 degree one off the alternator.
Dremeled out the cover a little so I could still use it.

So I think I have everything figured out for the positive battery cables.
I was hoping to run two 5/16" 90 degree ones at the PDC.
But from the PDC to the battery it won't lay flat.
Was trying to not trim the little cover. Oh well.
So going to run a straight 5/16" to the battery.
Probably be better anyway. I will trim the cover on the fly.

Also figure run a 5/16" 90 degree at the starter.

Going to try to get to the store today and grab 8' of 2 gauge positive wire and I guess we will see how I make out.

What did you do to your XJ/MJ today?

Setup the new bender and put it to use on a trackbar bracket brace.

I guess it is OK. When I first bought it I played with it to check it out.
With both 2 and 4 gauge wire. I crimped a lug at both ends then cut it
like people do in the YouTube videos.
