It is listed in the '00 parts catalog. 55217068AE.

I just have never seen one on a '97 and up.

A guy locally has a "never used" one for sale on craigslist he's been trying to sell for months. I almost bought it for $75 just for the hell of it. I thought it might deaden some noise since it's listed as a "silencer" on the tag.

I wonder what shipping would cost on something like that. I want that. Can you post or PM me the Craigslist link?

Got it. Thank you. Might contact him. With shipping it would probably cost the same as the one at the Ebay link I posted.
But then it is a real Mopar one. LOL. At $350 no way. At a $125 shipped for a Mopar one. Maybe........

So a "What I did today so I could do stuff to my XJ" post.
So I did taxes today and have about $375 coming back between federal and state.
Well I already have my federal refund. Kinda.
I underpay the federal. At some point last year I slipped $600 into an envelope to cover.
I do this every year.
Usually I owe about $550. Maybe taxes did go down. Only owe $316 this year.
Thinking this will cover my alt rebuild, upgraded battery cables, and my aux fuse box.
Assuming I can figure out how I am going to handle the aux fuse box. LOL.

It'll be a sad day when my tax season is that small. I'm used to $4-5k.

I remember those days. When I used to work in printing. And I was single just claiming myself. Of course I did claim 0 for tax purposes so they would take out more and I would get back more in April. Now I work a low paying job delivering auto parts. Killing time till I start getting my SS benefits. And have been for the last 10 years. LOL. Which might be as early as next year. Haven't really decided what I am going to do yet.

Looks good. I'm trying to decide between Fishbone Offroad and Logans metal products for front bumpers.

Build thread post 294

I've been concentrating on tackling some of the "deferred maintenance" on the new daily so the Jeep has been waiting it's turn. Tonight I gave it a little love, I hope to put some of this to the test soon.

First thing that got done tonight was wiring and installing my REM II. I finally settled on the corner of the dash alongside the driver side "A" pillar. There really isn't any reason to mount it in the center of the dash, unless I decide I want it in frame of the GoPro.

The most difficult part of this install was getting the plug on the Ethernet Cord through the grommet. I used the hole the back window washer hose goes through. As I no longer have a pump for the back window washer, the loss of the hose is of no consequence.

The next project was figuring out a mounting location for the gimbal I mentioned in my last post. What I finally came up with was using the GoPro suction cup mount coupled with the flexible arm that came with the clamp mount. The final configuration looks kinda busy, but I think it'll work pretty well. It places the camera directly beneath the mirror.

Stay tuned, I'll try to get some video to upload as soon as I get a chance.

Went with Smittybilt XRC bumper, $416+tax and free delivery from Amazon, and a Smittybilt XRC 9500 synthetic line winch.

Red 1996 XJ, SE, 4.0, AX-15, 160,000: Rusty's 3" and 31's. This is XJ number 3 for me!
