No worse than those people who mount their cb to the roof. That idea really makes me cringe.

And yet it's a very common practice.

All the more reason why I like the Cobra 75wxst.

Why not make it a runner and sell someone a cheap starter project?

I might when I get it. I'll be driving roughly a hour each way. It needs a Leaf spring bolt (broke in unibody) and needs a exhaust.

Good to hear bud. Little by little, we gotta do something to keep the species alive.

So doing a little bit of a few projects I have in the works. And when I say projects I use the term loosely because nothing compared to what you guys do. So I cleaned up the passenger seat bottom that I am going to turn into a driver's seat. Cleaned up one the map pockets I am going to double sided tape on my door panel. The carpet part was loose so I just peeled it off. Used this 3M 08984 that Pima recommended do get the glue residue off the plastic part. Stuff is great. Practically eats up the glue residue on its own. Haven't decided if I will use an adhesive out of a tube or double sided tape to put the carpet back on the plastic. I would use the map pocket door panels, I am OK with the fake wood grain, but not with the lighter color though. Maybe some year I will recover the wood grain ones in a darker color like USN_BlackWK did. Wire brushed my tow hooks, degreased and prepped so I can slap a little POR 15 on them. Also degreased and wire brushed my tranny crossmember. This is in preparation for hanging the TC Skid. Figure I will degrease again, metal prep, and POR 15 it before I do. Also wire brushed the metal for the driver's seat and it is soaking in Purple Power. At some point I will metal prep that and POR 15 too. But the tranny crossmember and seat metal are not getting done today. Just shooting for the tow hooks.

It's getting stripped. The Hole in the unibody isn't saveable at the spot it is.

So while I am waiting for POR 15 to dry figure I would play with the driver's side power seat bases. Have 2. One works but the forward and back direction clicks a little. The other one forward and back works great but the other two don't even move. Stripped worm gears in the motors it turns out. So I found that you can remove the whole motor and spin the metal worm gear out of the tube in one piece if you just remove the dowel holding it in. PB Blast'ed it, found one of my smaller crappy Philips head screwdrivers, and banged it out from the outside. Turns out the 2 motors for the up and down are the same part #. I circled in the one picture where the dowel is. See the little metal disc. About the size of a watch battery. No idea what it does. So I figure I will keep the one base that I am going to use apart so I can clean that up and POR 15 at a later date.
