Think of it this way, compressed air is compressed air, no matter where it comes from. If your tank is feeding 90 psi out the regulator and so is mine, it doesn't matter how it got compressed. It's like the bump stop vs tires size argument, doesn't matter how much lift you have if you have wide 33's and haven't trimmed your fenders, you will need bump stops.

I also originally purchased the 50' 3/8" flexzilla hose. I am just getting a 25' 1/2" hose so I can use air tools in my garage. I'll be keeping my 50' 3/8" hose and putting different fittings on the end so everything stays compatible if I need more length.

I see. Well I will take measurements and see if I can get by with a 25' one too. Kinda hoping my friend/old boss at the store will have some old air tools lying around that he doesn't really use anymore. Have to give him a call. He doesn't mess around when it comes to tools. He had to fix the air in his moms Durango. Bought the gauges, vacuum pump, and a 30lb tank of 134. Probably could have just purchased 4 little cans and had more then enough. So incase I strike out there still need some suggestions.

Not much cause of the rain. Took the slider off the passenger seat. Going to try to get some POR 15'ing done tomorrow. Supposed to be a better day. Did the break in for the new compressor. Now I need an impact gun. My landlord has an old ford 450 out back. Think that is what it is. My buddy and are going to dismantle a couple things on the truck when I do get the impact. Try to get an idea of what we can and can't do with the compressor and whatever gun I end up with.

The one thing I really miss being a full time traveler is my shop . A place to keep a decent amount of tools to be able to putz away the days .
Now , I'm kinda limited as to what I can carry . Example : a little smaller version of Ralph77's compressor .

Maybe , someday ...

I really only needed to drag out my little Craftsmen, probably equivalent to yours, but I want to play with my new one. Just blowing stuff off so it will dry quicker.

Well we will see what it can handle up too when I get some air tools. My landlord has a F450 in the back. Doesn't move and never will again. Asked if I could have at it a little when I get my impact gun. Get an idea of what I can and can't do. He said go for it.

Well, it's more like: What I've Done To My XJ/MJ Over The Last Few Months. Cam went to lunch awhile back. Was a few other things that needed to be taken care of on it too, so it got parked while I scratched up the $$$.
First order was to fix all screwed up stuff done by previous owners, (All family, who shall remain nameless) broken studs, stripped holes, and such. New brass freeze plugs, new PS pump (leaking and old) new steer gear (ditto leaking). Got the new cam, lifters, timing set in, and front cover back on. Alt, and AC back on. Head & valve train.
Started to bolt up the manifolds and found about a dozen cracked welds on the exhaust. Ordered a new one rather than weld up the old one. That came in yesterday, so trying to build up the ambition to attack it again today.
Love that XJ, but I'm getting too old to crawl around under it, and I'm running out of knuckles to bust..

No what you mean. It takes me so much longer to do stuff with all the 5 minute breaks I take. Just past my prime. Quite past.

It's when the red juices start flowing that I'm getting tired of. But machinery requires blood sacrifice to run properly.

Longer tool handles relieves some of that flow , but yeah , seems there isn't a project that doesn't take some skin .
