Most seem to run theirs on the rear. My concern was partially with signal pattern seeing as 2 - 3 feet of the antenna is alongside the steel body.

Thanks for the logic on the dual cable. That does make good sense. Stupid to risk it when the right cable is only $12.
I was hesitant to run the forward mount for the same reason, but realistically, I really don't even see the antenna. The "A" pillar presents much more visual blockage.

I went out to investigate the "alongside the steel body"...
I plan to position the mount above the top body line, right behind the 4x4 emblem. There'll be about 16-18", leaving 30" above the roof. Plus the steel body will be sloping away from the antenna.

In the middle of my gusset & balljoint install (driver's side). Need to let things cool for a bit before I throw some paint on it, so decided to come bother y'all.

So far 2017 has been good. Not an inauspicious beginning. LOL

Doesn't look good for getting both sides done today. Oh well, one side is better than nothing.

Going to pick up a YJ hardtop, YJ rollbar, YJ Grill, 4.2 motor and a YJ hood tomorrow for $250. Should make $300 profit off it.

Today I installed a new set of solenoids in my XJ's AW4. I bought a new to me OEM chrome rear bumper.

Square headlights FTW! I love my YJ's and XJ's. Mine don't look as nice as yours though. I'm guessing you're older than 22 though and have been working at that for a while.
