Not to be snarky but... The strength in those concrete blocks is on the side with the holes. Not the way you have them. For safety sake, they would be turned the other way.

Not crawling under it. Just more to support it from sinking into the ground. But I get what you're getting at.

Why didn't you carry it all the way forward to the front fender well?

You want to always keep your drag link and track bar parallel to avoid bump steer.

Nope. You don't need one unless you've got a drop bracket on your trackbar as well (you wanna keep those parallel) or you're trying to run stock-type steering on 6"+ of lift. It has no relation to control arm mounting.

Might be picking up a durango this weekend to take over towing duty from the jeep, which opens up a lot more possibilities for the jeep since I wouldn't need to stay quite as low and stable. Maybe I'll finally go to 4.5"

Hoping I can nab it but I don't have full details yet. V8 with all the creature comforts owned from new by an older couple. Not sure the exact year, but it's the older style from around 2000 with the big long hood that still looked a lot like the ram trucks so it should be the 5.9L.

OH: for shoop and redjeepster we were talking about the metalcloak lift the other day and whether the leaves would be the right height:

Just remembered on another build thread a guy posted up picks of the rear lift measurement, he had 4-4.5 on each side sitting on kinda unlevel ground. Back was relatively empty, lots of stuff back there but none of it very heavy except the spare, which was pushed way up by the front seats anyway.

Edit: it was user @aroundincircles on this thread page: https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f177/...97/index2.html

Now that you say that, I am following that thread and remember him posting that. I didn't realize he had metalcloak leafs. If that's with stock shackles than they would be a little high for what I am going for. I'll have to look back and see. I don't remember. Then gain, I do usually have a spare and tools in the back so that might make up the difference. And a slight take is fine in my book. Just don't want 6" rear and 4" front. 5" rear and 4-4.5" front would be ok though.
