My nephew wants to sell his XJ now cuz he didn't keep up on the maintenance, so "It's a piece of crap". $500 and I don't have the money, damn! Funny thing, all it needs is the axle I just took out of mine that's sitting on my porch.

Ya buddy, that's why the axle on my porch is the right one. Other than that, it needs a new clutch. I'd say I could fix that myself but it's an internal slave that I don't wanna deal with.

This.
Yeah it took out every sheet metal body panel on that side of the truck and destroyed the pinch seams where it hit the running boards. So they are going to be pulling that all out

So I have been doing some thinking. I think I was to go back to my 32s. I get horrible gas mileage currently and it rides rough with my current tires. I am in the search for TJ Moab's to mount my kuhmos back on. I want to travel around in this Jeep and not kill my tank.

I started thinking the same way about mine today as well... Except I'm not sure what size tire to go with. I think I want to go with the 17" jk rubis and hopefully whatever comes on them will be large enough. Hopefully at least 245's - 255's

I'm still stock as far as the engine goes, but w/ 4.88s & 37s on a little over 6" of lift (and a 37" spare on the roof) I'm getting right around 13mpg.

YMMV (literally, lol)

Wasn't expecting to check in this morning and only hear about tires. I was just talking to one of my buddy's yesterday about borrowing his 32's for a little while (he is half way through a 5.7 SBC swap in his YJ and won't be needing them for a while) to see how they would do on the Jeep. I love the 33's and love the tread I have but offroad my tires are going to just eat my fenders until I can stretch the front end a little. Not sure how the mileage will be. From the last 3 tanks of fuel I have averaged 16.6, 16.8 and 16.7 so I am getting decent mileage with the 33's. Even on stock gears. I was getting 18-19 on the 31's. 32's probably won't do so hot on mileage though seeing as they are Super Swampers.
