I can lie, my wife still thinks there's a reservoir for starter fluid. Since I showed her a can, she believes it.

I see you'll have to work on your mechanicing skills , as any decent wrench would have that supposed 5 minute job take at least 5 hours and have just about every tool in his box spread out .

1995 Cherokee Country . Gone , but , not forgotten .

Goes around , comes around .

Decided to track down the grinding noise in front of the motor that has been getting louder for the last few days. Yep, bearing going out in the WP. Had been thinking of going over the cooling system before summer anyway, so it just gave me the good excuse to run to the parts store. 281K and still going strong.

Forgot to post this earlier. Got my light bar mounted. Going to probably run 2 spots on top of the bar like Nolan's rig.

Did he 4.0 swap the JK? Why would he blow a head gasket?

Well I had a local guy from NAXJA offer to help me get the diff carrier out last night. He couldn't get it either, so I've started putting it back together to take it to a shop.

Here's the thing.

I haven't run a carfax on this jeep because, well, I don't want to know but I now heavily suspect that it was in an accident that was more serious than a fender bender. I don't see any evidence of a frame straightener being used, but here are the little things that have added up:

The hood is closer to the driver fender than the passenger fender.
I noticed over the weekend that the hood is higher on the header in the middle than it is on the sides, like the hood is bowed up.
The windshield had been replaced, and leaked on the passenger side.
In the right light, you can see a little crease in the passenger fender
There are 5 lock cylinders on an XJ. I have two keys. One for the ignition and glove box, one for the passenger door and hatch. I don't have a key that works in the driver side door.
The interior is from a 2001 limited.
The passenger side ball joints were different than the driver side.

I think, at this point, it's possible that the reason I cannot get the diff carrier out is because the axle is bent slightly, basically clamping the carrier in the housing.

It's almost worth it to run a carfax, but then I would know. I suspect that it got totaled, salvaged, then re-titled in a state that doesn't do salvage titles (Ohio does this, I think), and then re-titled again here in TN, only this time without a salvage title.

Design previews and mad kid pics on
