This is my first post as I'm new to the addiction called "Jeep". I bought a 91 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 HD 4x4 Laredo. This weekend I attempted to get a smog (emission) test done so I can transfer ownership. I put the stock air box back on (the tweaker cold air filter wasn't legal), hooked up all the hoses correctly and drove it down Saturday morning. The technician must've had a bad morning. The hose I used for the valve cover breather was heater hose, not oil rated nor correct. Also had 2 missing (broken) exhaust bolts and a fuel cap that wouldn't tighten up. It failed visually but runs clean.
Got to spend the rest of the weekend pulling off the exhaust and intake manifolds, drilling broken bolts for easy outs, replacing gasket and putting it all back together. Fun stuff.

With lack of airflow that grill may cause, the flamethrower may end up being a likely option.
