I read that that's what most people do. I'd rather it be on a temp switch and cut on when the motor got to a certain temp.

It certainly explains why my jeep was getting hot in traffic and while drafting behind truckers...

Okay so when I retighten the bolts/studs on my valve cover, I know they have to be done crisscross but where from? Anyone have a crudely drawn diagram?

I don't have to leave town till noon, so I may try to get the lights mounted on the roof. The task: This is where I drill holes in the roof. Rubber grommets and silicone are my plan of attack.

I would say try to drill the hole so the roof rack strips that are attached to the roof conceal the hole. For instance, remove a strip, drill the hole and drill out the strip so you can feed your wires inside of the strip.

That's the plan. The wires are coming out the end of the crossbeam through a hole I drilled in the plastic ends. There's about 1" of wire showing before it goes through the base of the plastic end, into the siderail and through the roof. The 1" of exposed will get some heatshrink too.
