I hit the inside of the XJ with the U-POL Raptor and it came out sick, the stuff looks so much better and the quality seems much better than the duplicolor or the Herculiner

I would go with the last kit by IRO. You can check them out directly at www.ironrockoffroad.com instead of them on ebay.

Thanks. If I go with one of the cheaper ones I will get it from them. I may have to. I need new tires now. I don't want to buy tires now and another set if I wait to lift it in 6 months.

Didn't do anything to it today except daydream about what I want to do to it. Looked at a bunch of off road groups from around here. Thinking about joining one. Going wheeling with a bunch of other people would be cool as hell.

Got a couple more (probably stupid) questions.

Can you explain what a budget boost is?

And I have a few questions about disconnecting the sway bars. Is it safe for a daily driver or is it for off road only? How would one go about it if it is safe? Should both front and rear be done?

Hope the constant questions aren't irritating anyone because I'm sure there are a lot more to come.

budget boosts are lifts on a budget. usually referring to shackles and coil spacers. some times people talk about AAL (add a leaf) kits or bastard packs (mix matching leaf springs from packs) in there to where you swap around leafs to get the height/rate you want.

sway bars: rear is ok to permanently disconnect but it will ride a bit differently especially if you tow or have a lot of stuff in the back a lot how ever the front should not be driven on the road disconnected it can be fery dangerous, a few may say different but 99% of people here will say to not do it.

I changed my oil today due to having the day off, and gave it a badly needed wash.

Installed Rampage H4 headlamps with the upgraded harness. Haven't driven it at night yet but in the garage was already way better. Very easy install, took a little over an hour taking my time. Where are you guys routing the new cables? I put mine zip tied to the other cables behind the grill in front of the radiator, being careful that none of the cables contact the radiator.

Is this something I can do in addition to a lift or is it an either or thing? I think I saw in someone's sig that they had both but I could just be special.

Would it work with this?

Today my jeep is beginning its transformation into a trail rig. I have a set of doors for sale if anyone wants them, Green 92 laredo doors okay condition. I am going to harrisburg tomorrow to put a down payment on a 94 f250 powerstroke and I will pay it in full in 3 weeks when I turn 18. So the future for the xj is whatever axles I can shove under the thing and 35's or bigger. I can start really screwin with the thing now that its off the road but anyone that knows me can vouch that I wheel that thing harder than some dedicated trail rigs.

Tomorrow I am helping the guy replace the starter taking it for a test drive.

“If it rolls, floats, flies or shoots, runs on gasoline or gunpowder, goes fast or shoots a big bullet and makes lots of noise, thus producing torque and recoil — it’s cool.”
