Fortunately the .110 and .187 connectors that I'd ordered came in this morning, so I started to take a serious look at getting the stereo situation resolved. Finally figured out how to get interior trim off, got my front speakers replaced and driver's door wiring fixed. Set sound bar in place but did not cut hole in headliner for bracket yet, it's just hanging there. Pulled all the rear trim and found out that I don't have the wiring running front-back for rear speakers or the rear dome light... @#$%@#$% stupid base model. Am contemplating just running to the store and getting some scotch-loks and being done with it, I know that's not real professional but still. gots stuff to do!

Also determined that 6.5s will in fact fit in the front doors without hacking up the door panels like the PO did. Used Polk DXi650S (shallow mount - this is important - the standard ones definitely would not fit) and they are very tight but they fit. Waiting for my SEM color chips to come in so I can spray "new" door panels to match interior and de-ghettoize my ride...

Next possibly fixing the rear hatch latch before it quits working completely and locks me out for good...

I need to find my torx bits to get the handle off yet, but here is what I found while searching

https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/f...0/#post6204191

I'm assuming that this is a "threaded rod" problem, it feels like the rod needs to be pulled a little more to release it because I have to hip check the hatch while pulling the handle to get it open currently, and it's getting worse...

what bracket are you using? On my list of things to do is fabbing a bracket to mount it above the RV mirror, but I've got other things to work on first...

When I did mine, I used a couple of deck ties from the lumber section at Lowe's and then bolted a standard cb mount to them. I had to widen a couple holes for the sun visor mounts to sit flush but it is pretty strong.

One of these day I might take it back off and paint it.

wheeled it, got it stuck, heavy rain and slick clay mud everywhere, almost rolled it during one slide.

Picked up a set of 5 white Waggy Style wheels (Cragar's I believe) brand new with less than 500 miles on them for $100 bucks! all look un-used! My buddy got them with 5 brand new Geolander AT's for $450.00, and I popped for the wheels as they dont fit his pathfinder.

15 x 8", 5 on 4.5 with a 4" back space. Going to find a set of smaller tires for trailer towing and long road trips. Like some Michelin LTX M/S or something more road friendly. Save me some gas on the long towing trips.

Went wheeling today in the stock Cherokee. Managed to smack the front bumper a good one and crushed the driver side rocker. I had already planned on doing a DIY bumper and replacing the rockers with rock sliders. They are pretty rusted.

I made and installed a 1" transfer case drop so it doesn't feel like the jeep is coming apart at 35-40 mph.

I got a few new scratches and a small dent. I probably won't wheel my XJ again until I get a bit taller. The first 90 turn on that trail with a tree right there on the corner scared me after seeing the guy in front of me rub it and he was lifted and I am stock on fat rear springs.

Spent a few hours today and finally got the XJ back to safe drivable condition.

I finished the new track bar, with over axle mount.

Then the rear leaf pin broke, I pulled it out to find my aluminum shim as thin as a tin can!

I then put new center pins on with 8* steel shims this time, and my pinion angle is for the first time in a long time correct! 0.5* pinion to driveshaft difference.
