outside my house water made it 2 foot up the drive. took the xj out on a cruise last night, stopped at hucks and water was pouring over the curb into the parking lot

Made some practice cuts with my rear fenders on my parts XJ. Not happy with the results.

Went over to my friends to finish up the engine swap we started last night. Finished hooking up the exhaust filled it with coolant and changed the oil. We got her running well, and headed out to a big offroad get-together. We found out that his temp gauge wasn't functioning on the way there, so we kept a close watch on the cooling system. He was happy to have his Cherokee running again.

I watched lots of people get stuck in the mud pits and decided not to go since I have crappy 10 year old tires. We did a few trails and I pulled a tj off of a steep creek bank. It was a good thing he stopped when he did because it was about a 10 foot drop into about 6 feet of water. Few minutes later I gave her hell up a long steep hill, bouncing all over the place and about at the top of the hill there was a banging sound coming from the rear near the transfercase. We discovered that the double cardian was hitting the body. I also had some rubbing on my clutch fan. Both very weird things. We decided the trans mount was shot, and wedged a 2x4 between the body and the transmission, to keep the driveshaft from smacking the body. I limped it to my buddy's shop and pulled the trans mount off of his old parts jeep. After prying and hulking we got the mount replaced with the slightly better bushing. We then discovered that the fan was now hitting the subframe rail. We checked the engine mounts and found that I had sheared all three bolts on my passenger side, YAY!!

I should have taken a picture, but I can assure you I have my work cut out for me, they are flush if not 1/16" recessed in the block. I guess I'm going to invest in a good easy out, and a **** ton of pb.

Nothing to mine but I learned that my cousins boyfriend has a 91 XJ with badly rusted floor board (fit your foot though the drivers floor bad) and I offered to fix it. And his rear bumper is smashed; It was rusted, but it got rear ended at work one day so now its quite bad. I happen to have a spare one of those too, lol. So I get to try out my hand at some repair work, yay!

Removed my rear bumper and started my Detours Tailbone install. I realized (after painting) that I bought High Gloss and not Semi as I had planned....FAIL. Doesnt match the front now.

Repainting today, and rolling with only only half a Tailbone installed.

Well I had a very fullfulling weekend with my xj, I did a junkyard lift consisting of 75 Ford f-100 coils and then I utilized the leafs off of a s-10 (the main and then the third) which in all netted me about 4.5" inches of lift. While I was at it I utilized the smaller helper leaf tips and made shims for the axle which some how made my drive train have absolutely no vibrations with the stock drive shaft and SY. ??? I dont know if thats normal or not but I believe its a rareity. then I trimmed my fenders to house some 33's. (dont have yet) but getting ready. Next on the list i suppose is going to be shocks. I snapped off the driver side rear bar pin bolts though and then drilled them out and tried to extract them with a ez out but snapped the damn thing off in the first one too. SUggestions? Oh and discovered the only place that had cancer on the whole jeep when cutting the rear pass fender, a greater portion of the lower rear pannel is eaten up.. so may be taking a cutting wheel and grinder to a salvage yard to cut out that portion and weld in.

1997 Cherokee Sport, Rustys Intake with velocity stack and larger cone filter, Flowmaster 40 series, Junkyard Lift 3.5", Zone Nitro Shocks, Trimed fenders, 35x14.5x15 TSL Thornbirds (Looks HUGE) ... trail damage :) Future holds Aftermarket bumpers front and rear, exo cage, lockers/gears
