messed with the clutch somemore to day on the MJ it needs a pressure plate so gonna change the whole clutch assembly. when I get the money that is. I did purchase 4.5" lift springs for the front from a local guy that went to 6.5" so now I need upper and lower arms and brake hoses for the front and to domy SOA with 2" lift shackles to the back to have 4.5" lift all the way around. It was really easy. Take off the rear driveshaft and yoke, measure, cut, tap, Install new seal(95- only), bolt on new yoke and new driveshaft. Id only recommend it if you have a 96+ cherokee with the boot seal, but some people have no problems at all with the older ones.

Changed the oil, oil filter (****ing impact wrenched on fram took an hour....), plugs, and wires. Seems to have high oil pressure with 10w40, but it's at 217k and it's what I had on hand. Might go back to 10w30 when summer cools off. 50psi highway 30 idle seems excessive for the 4.0.

It was a bit below the full line. I'll check it again when I drive home in the morning. Any thoughts on penzoil high mileage oil?

Oh, ok....so, they're still mounted to the doors. That doesn't really help me. Thanks for the pics though. i was hoping you found a way to fit mirrors to the fenders or A-pillar without them looky goofy as hell, so you have mirrors with doors on or off.

found a spare tire mounting bracket at work and I got an idea. $20 for two new roof rack crossbars at the JY and $7 for the bracket at work and I now have the capability to mount a spare on the roof. The compact spare is too small so the bracket can't hold it tight enough but I popped a tire off and put a full size one up there for the heck of it and I love the way it looks. Kinda big... but hey, its a Jeep. I have three crossbars supporting the tire. and the bracket is fastened to the middlemost one.

Only thing is, I was thinking about if I had to stop short should I trust the inertia of the entire tire on that one crossbar. I decided not to so I put a tie-down strap over the whole thing and it feels REALLY stable now

OH! Also, the bracket I got came with locking brackets I can put a pad-lock through to deter theft.

Alright alright.... picture time

heres the regular tire mounted up there... with tie down:

and heres what it was like with the compact spare. Definately not going to work, you can see the extra space... not like I even want a compact spare up top, this is my excuse to get a real spare. Off to the junkyard?! Note the locking brackets.... cool

I forgot to add.... the extra trunk space is AWESOME

Thats perfect. I have 50 psi highway and 16-20 at hot idle with Rotella 10w30. I'm betting the pressure seems higher than before because there was a Fram filter on it.

Frams suck. Pennzoil is fine but I'd watch the oil level. My friend's truck never burns oil with Valvoline. He tried pennzoil and it burned a quart in 2000 miles. Switched back to Valvoline and it doesn't burn any. Same weight (10w30) and both high mileage oils. This was in a '92 Ranger with a 4 cylinder and 33" boggers.

Finally got my Jeep completed until I break something else. After 8 months of posessing it, I also finally got legal street tags and the title transfered ! No more sneaking around hoping that I dont get caught.

Just ordered a 3 row CSF radiator from DPG offroad.

Dirk was a very good guy to talk to, and even gave me some pointers on installing it.
