After 6 months of throwing a CEL code, I finally replaced my post cat O2 sensor. Replaced my TPS as well, I hear idling at >250 is bad..

Now I just need to figure out why my cruise control isn't working.

Tried to swap driver's side hub and rotor. Succeeded today... still needed a 6 foot pipe on the end of it though.

Now this is a breaker bar. 1" drive SnapOn FTMFW.

I'll say!

I couldn't get enough torque to crush the crush washer on my pinion (so it was somewhere north of 350 ft/lbs needed). I ended up putting a Craftsman 3/4" breaker bar (and an impact adapter to the socket) on the pinion nut, and lifted it with my floor jack. I wasn't sure WHAT was gonna give, but happily it ended up being the crush washer. At one point I was afraid that I was going to actually lift the back end of the Jeep off the stands with the breaker bar (doing the math on that one makes me shudder to think of how much torque it took!).

Sounds like you might have a shorted out wire somewhere, or the motor is faulty and drawing entirely too much amperage. Check your alternator fuses too. If everything is dimming like that, you may be running on battery only.

Not necessarily the alternator, if you just replaced it it could be the fuses for it in the under hood fuse block.

Cleaned the IAC, didn't seem that bad really, but was it?

And for those of you who need this done, it is on the side of the throttle body closest to the head of the engine.

Bottom screw was a PIA to get to, but I had a long extension with my bit attachment with a flex elbow on it.

Also washed it (waxing it tomorrow if I have time)/

New tires.

Also bought brake pads and rotors and lucas oil tune up in a bottle.

aircruiser id say its a short somewhere. possibly in the door jam where the wires run from the body to the door. could have been worn from opening and closing the door then when you replaced the regulator maybe you pulled the wire just enough to make it short or something?

second thing, what is an AIC and why does it need to be cleaned?

and lastly is there something i can do to keep oil from going out the yop of the motor into the air filter via that hose? can i just take the hose off and plug the hole or what?

thanks

The IAC (idle air control) does something (someone please explain the exact purpose). I suppose to keep the correct air intake the way it should?

Anyway, at times, my Jeep would run really rough and idle would go as high as 1250 or as low as 250rpms. I made a thread about the issue.

https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/h...med-up-858979/

And it was suggested I do this. It seems to have fixed it, but I won't know for sure until it doesn't happen again.
