ENTRY 4
RoyalXJ

This is my second real build since I got into rock crawling. I learned a lot from my last rig. This year I decided to built a new better rig from scratch. This is what it consists of so far. It works very well no matter what I put in front of it.

Year: 1999
Model:XJ Sport:
Drivetrain:4.0 (BBK throttle body, MSD wires, Rustys throttle body spacer, Spectra filter, Flowmaster 50 series, Brown Dog mounts, Optima yellow top) AW4, NP231 w/ AA sye and Novak shifter/linkage, BDS tc skid, Quigleys rear driveshaft, Shortened front shaft with Spicer 1310 u joints.
Suspension: Clayton 6.5" coils, RE 4.5" Leafs (made in usa), RE 1.25" shackle, Liquid Iron Industries relocation brackets, BDS 4 link, Ruff Stuff traction bar (2" dom lower, 1.5" dom upper, 1/4" axle plates 4" shackle, 7/8 heim), Bilstein 7100s in front and Bilstein 5100s in rear w/ hoop.
Wheels/Tires:5- 15x8 3.5 bs Pro Comp Rockcrawler steel wheels w/ 37x12.50 Goodyear MTRs
Other Notable Modifications:
Steering:
1.50" DOM, 7/8" Ruff Stuff heims, Parts Mike hi steer arm, BJ's Offroad drop waggy pitman arm, PSC steering box, PSC 8" hyrdo assist ram, JCR steering box spacer, steering box brace, 1.5" DOM track bar with Ruff Stuff 3/4" heims, Clayton track bar bracket

Front Axle:
78 F250 HP44, flat top knuckles, RCV shafts, full spool, Warn lockouts with RCV 300m upgrades, 4:88 gears, T&T truss and bracket kit, Ruff Stuff diff cover, Spicer HD balljoints.

Rear axle:
FF60, chromolly 35 spline shafts, disc brake conversion, Ruff Stuff u bolts and plates, full spool, 4:88 gears, Ruff Stuff diff cover.

Armor:
JCR stage III sliders, Protofab Winch Bumper, Roxolid rear bumper, XRC 10 winch with synthetic line and Draken fairlead, raised gas tank w/ skid.

Favorite Modification: Hydro Assist Steering. It makes a world of a difference turning the 37s on the rocks.
Least Favorite Modification The front bumper is too big and bulky:
Favorite Trail: I love wheeling Rausch Creek. I have too many favorite trails there to name just one.
Best Trail Damage: I broke 2 brand new rear driveshafts in 2 days before I built my traction bar.

ENTRY 5
robd2003
Started with a rolling chassis 94' XJ that was very clean with only minor rust, which at the time me and the wife had no vehicle. So the project of bulding the Cherokee became a top priority, and in five short days she was driving down the Interstae at a good 65mph with ease. Its unique to me by it has no problems from being built with ALL junkyard parts.

Even if I dont win, makes me feel good giving the guy (Royalxj) who won XJ of the year last year a run for him money. And they are all good looking rigs. Good job blacksmith on putting this together.

Ha thank you, and it functions well, as far as I'm concerned anyways, plus if it was much taller my wife wouldn't be able to get in.

Jeeps:
99' XJ<->5.5" Lift; 35's; SYE; Winch; much more goodies too
02' WJ<->Rebuilt from wreck, still stock

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure this is a different rig than the one he won cherokee of the year with.

Eher way, alot of really nice rigs in the contest this month.
