Tire presssure question - Goodyear Duratracs

Anyone with Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs on their XJ... I'm wondering what pressure to run with 33x12.5x15 tires.

I realize there are lots of variables... just wanting to get a general consensus. My jeep has OR-Fab bumpers (not too heavy), sliders, and no winch. So it's heavier than stock, but not really loaded down.

Thanks for any input

Google Chalk Test.

Tire pressure will vary based on the vehicle, cargo load, and the tire/rim combination.

For a 33" tire, 25-30 psi would be about right.

^^ I have done the chalk test and I will do it with these. Wanted to get a good starting point. Thanks. I'll go 28-30 and do the chalk thing from there. Some great reviews on these tires! Stoked to get them on there.

Ya great tires. I run mine a little lower in presure on the street because it rides nicer. Not as good for the tires but my suspension is so stuff that it jumps around on the road hitting bumps lol. The duratracs are very very nice i am extremley happy with them.

You basically cover the tread with chalk at different pressures and roll forward, so the tire 'draws' it's contact patch on the ground. correct pressure is when the contact patch is constant and doesn't show 'cupping' or no contact on the edges.

Way too much IMO. You'll get better ride and life if you air them down a bit, or better yet do the chalk test as mentioned above...

I just got them put on yesterday, and the shop I go to inflates everything to 35psi. When they are still that clean you could tell from the short drive home that the outer 1.5 inches or so of the tread isn't contacting the ground. I will drop to 28 or so and see from there. These tires look sweet, and are really quiet on the road compared to my Maxxis Bighorns. I think they're going to be the perfect sweet spot between a MT and an AT. Definitely more practical for most normal folks, and I cannot wait for the next snow storm.
