A simple 2 door build.

I parted out my zj buggy on a set of 01 super duty tons too help me save for a house. Specs on the zj
Mid arm radius arm front
Triangulated 4 link rear with clayton brackets and home made control arms around 3 to 4 inches of lift with 16 inch travel air shocks in the rear and 13 inch travel shocks up front.
Super duty Dana 50/sterling 10.5
Psc full hydro.

I found a perfect trail rig xj for 300 that needed a transmission and I had one in the barn at my friends place that would work. So I bought it, through a battery, aw4, hatch, hood, alternator, power steering pump, muffler and got registered this week. I'm putting the tires off of my gfs jeep on it before it goes to the scrap yard.

My plans for this jeep are simple.
4 inches of lift 35s hp30 with a lunchbox/8.25 welded.
As far as suspension goes right now I am looking at a clayton cross member with home made arms. I will be running their rear cross member and belly pan when I go to swap it out for tons and 40s. I have ordered stiffeners a tube bender and will be running a hybrid cage hopefully before the end of winter.

Wish I could find deals like that. Big regrets moving down south. Cheapest 4WD XJs down here are 3500+ and have almost 300k miles. Outrageous.

Yeah unfortunately down here 4WD XJs are pretty uncommon so those that are 4WD are wicked expensive. I'm moving to Ohio in June and I started looking at prices up there and similar XJs are at most half the price of those here in SC. Probably just going to wait til I move to buy one.

Yeah that is one thing the market up here is flooded with rust buckets so sometimes people post low even when they are in excellent shape.
Stiffeners on the way.

Ohio rust makes them much cheaper.

Today was a roller coaster got it running and all together. When I bought it the ignition switch had let go so I had wired in a push button starter. Thinking I may have made a bad crimp. Everything checked out fine and it had made two errand runs during the day. I jumped the starter solenoid and it did absolutely nothing. This leads me to believe that the starters shot.

You'd be surprised at how rusty the ones in SC are. Honestly the Ohio ones aren't much worse.

Ordering more parts asap.
Battery box for one, 3 link parts and rear leaf hangers are the next endeavour. However I am torn between a mid arm 3 link and buying a tube bender vs buying a crossmember and bolting it all together then buying stuff at tax time for my cage.

Are you doing bolt in shackle boxes or the no lift ones like I have? Also have you seen the comp shackles that flex?

I have seen those shackles and they are cool but I want links so it will be chevy 1500 shackles with a shackle relocation bracket, a slightly beefed up stock leaf pack with a anti wrap bar.
