I started another thread about a 91 YJ I went to look at near me I thought they were asking too much for me because of rust but several people's opinions seemed to indicate not too far off...

This is a really nice XJ. New windshield. I would say in the pictures it does look excellent for its age.

Really just curious again about price and value, I hope he gets it.

Looks a lot like mine when i bought it. 97 with 112k miles, i paid $4100 back in 2012. Now it has 135,250 miles but is pretty far from stock.

Asking prices for nice, late (& some earlier) XJ's now creeping towards 5 figures (& that's 's, not $$'s) here. Odd because, although they have a small enthusiastic following, they were never really that popular & are now a rare sight out on the road.

Still, it's nice to know I now have 2 examples of a vehicle I could no longer afford to buy.

That's awesome! I love it when that happens.

I remember reading somewhere about how vehicles tend to appreciate in chunks, rather than an angled but straight line up. It's nice to have gotten in before they hit one of those points where it just chunked up in value.

I really don't understand the pricing of XJ's lately.
And I don't see that fetching that much money but.....
Being an '01 too. IMO a less desirable year.
It is one thing to post a price and another to get it.
I wonder what these guys are actually getting for them.
But there are a few things about that Jeep that caught my eye.
For starters the front factory tow hooks.
Looks like there might be a factory rear one too.
The rear one IMO is useless though.
Thinking that is not a factory hitch so it does not have the trailer package.
But looking real close at the driver's side cargo window I think I see something.
There might be an Up Country Sticker there.
And assuming I am not seeing things that Jeep might have all the factory skids too.

Like someone suggested on 91 YJ thread even if they don't sell for asking the high asking price on listings tend to drive price up.

I don't see it either but I am definitely noticing what seems like prices going up.

Just checking back as I noticed the ad was deleted. I don't know that it sold for asking but it sure sold quick and in the middle of a major snowstorm.
