Rear Leaf Springs on 1997 XJ

Hi gang, newbe here. But, plan on hanging around awhile. I've had this jeep for awhile, and plan on keeping it longer. I'm here because of an issue I need help with. rear leaf broke in two places, and I've heard it's a common problem. Is it? Also heard the leaf springs off a Chevy S10 will fit, and give a 4" lift. Any truth, or ideas here?

Do you want to lift it or just fix it ? What is the budget, and what are the goals for the suspension ? Have you researched the additional modifications/expenses required for lifting the suspension 4 inches ?

.

A recent Gallup public opinion poll shows the NRA, at 58% approval, has a higher approval rating than either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.

S10 (or Dodge Dakota) leaves aren't a direct swap in. You build what's called a bastard pack with them. Basically disassembling your stock leaf pack and using a combination of leaves from your leaf pack and the donor pack to build a leaf pack to the height you want.

4 inches of lift is going to require a lot of extra ($$$) stuff to do it properly.

If you don't want to lift it just go with some Crown or General Spring replacement springs.

Theyre a little cheaper on amazon. Not by much but a little and much faster shipping than Qtech.
