If You Are Looking For XJ Parts

So I spend a lot of time stalking Craigslist, Ebay, OfferUp, Facebook Marketplace, and anywhere else I can think of to find the last pieces that I want for my '00.
Being kind of retired I have the time to do this.

So in an effort to give back I have been wanting to start this thread for sometime now.
I figure I am looking for myself and am there anyway.
So if you are looking for something post here. Maybe you get lucky and I come across it.

I am already trying to help out a few people and have helped a few.
You guys know who you are.
My memory not being what it was I have saved PM's for you guys so I know who and what part.
You have no idea how many times I have come across something and spend hours trying to remember who was looking for that part. LOL.
Thing is my PM box is getting pretty full and if you guys could tell me again here I could clean it up a little. MLOL

So how I think this will work.
Post here with what you are looking for. Give me as much info as you can about the part.
Picture of, part number if you have it, anything that will let me know that I might be looking at the right part if I come across it.
Figure this will be on a first come/first serve basis. In case 2 people happen to be looking for the same part.
If I happen across what you are looking for I will PM you instead of post it here.
If you are not interested in it, for whatever reason (price to high, quality not there, etc) let me know.
Cause if 2 people happen to be looking for the same part I will PM the next guy.
If you find the part before I do if you could just let me know that would be great.

Now for the disclaimer.
No guarantee that I will find what you are looking for.
I have nothing to do with the sale.
If I find it will just be PM'ing you a link.
Whether it is the correct part, the quality of it, if the pricing is right, finding out if the seller will ship, etc, is on you to determine.
Some leads might be more general.
In other words you are looking for an interior part for an '00 and I find a listing where this guy says he has all sorts of interior parts for '84 to '01 XJ's but does not specifically list what he has.
I am still going to PM you a link. Do what you want with the info.

The one exception to the disclaimer.
I make the occasional boneyard trip.
When I actually need something that I am hoping to find or sometimes just to look around.
If I happen to come across what somebody wants I will let you know that is the case.
I would be more then happy to grab the part and ship it.
I am not, repeat not, trying to make money here.
Just want the costs to be covered.
If this is the case I will need an email address. Cause I will want to send you detailed pictures.
If you don't like the quality of the part or the price that is fine.
I don't want anybody to feel obligated in anyway if I do grab something from the boneyard for them.
If you like what you see and are OK with the price will get a shipping quote.
If you are OK with that then we will go forward.
Once you get the part I need you to be 100% happy.
I would rather take a beating then having you mad at me.
I will make it right.

Noted.

Just to warn you about a couple things.

Don't really ever see the complete set up for sale on Ebay.
You will find switches, clockspring, and the actuator usually being sold separate.
Will get pricey.

Plus there is the thing about how '99 and up switches will not work in '97 or '98.
Something about ohms I think. You have to watch out if that is true.
Which I believe it to be.

Too many sellers on Ebay saying fits '97 to '01 in their listing.

My understanding is that you want switches from a '97 or '98.
Would love if somebody who actually knows would confirm that here.

I believe the clockspring and actuator does not matter.
Would also love for somebody to confirm that to.

So I could PM you when I see the individual listings for those parts on Ebay.
Hey maybe a complete set up would appear at some point.
Other then that it would just be links to part outs from around the country where I see
cruise control in the pictures.

Which I have no problem doing.
Just wanted you to be aware of a few things I think I know.

Ralph, totally understand that. If I had junkyards around here that wouldn't pick it apart before it goes to the yard I might've been able to find what I needed but so far all I've got is the steering wheel controls (out of a wrangler) that have broken mounting brackets so they're more or less spare parts at the moment.

Thanks for all of the assistance you give to the people on this forum!!!

There is one more thing that I forgot to tell you.
There is a more proper way to remove a clockspring.
You do it with the wheels straight.
When I see clocksprings for sale on Ebay I notice that they are never zip tied.
A clockspring needs to be centered and put in the Jeep with the wheels straight.
When removed with the wheels straight there is these little holes that line up on both halves.
So a zip tie could be put through to keep the clockspring centered.
Since I never see the zip tie in the sellers listing I wonder what position the clockspring is in.
There is very simple recentering procedure. So it is not the end of the world if not centered.
But these guys are usually asking upwards of $75 for them and it is a shame that they don't remove them properly.

1997-2001 all the CC parts are the same, except the switches.

The cruise switches in the steering wheel are "resistively multiplexed". This means that all the buttons use the same two wires to the ECU, which pass through the clockspring. The ECU measures the resistance between the two wires and figures out which button is pressed. The resistance of the switch circuit is different 97-98 vs 99-01, and is the only difference.

Cruise switch panels have an identical part number to 1997-to 2001. EXCEPT for the alphabetical revision code at the end. If your switches have a revision code of AA, AB, or AC they are 97-98 switches while 99-01 switches have revision codes of AD or later.

1997-98 part numbers are 5600 7530AA or AB or AC, and 5600 7531AA or AB or AC.

1999-01 part numbers are 5600 7530AD and 5600 7531AD.

“We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the Courts,
not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who would pervert the Constitution” Abraham Lincoln, 1859.

Best place would be to go to is the boneyard.
The part number appears to be 56001601. Not available anywhere.
I can't find an aftermarket one that is an exact fit.
Maybe somebody here might know of one.
Same for both sides and it appears in my parts catalogs that it is the same part number from '88 to '01.
Earlier ones might work but the part number is different.
So pretty much almost any XJ you find in the boneyard will work.
Chances of me coming across somebody specifically stating that they are selling wiper nozzles on Craigslist probably won't happen.
My point is that I could send you links to parts outs I see but that is the best I could do.
So let me know if you want me too.
They might show up on Ebay and if they do I will PM you a link but I never really see them there so.......
I do have one idea.
Contact these guys.

They part out a lot of Jeeps and might be able to help.

If you score some on your own please let me know so I can take you off the list.

Amazed that such a small thing presents such a big problem. As it costs nothing, weighs nothing & needs minimal packing, happy to take one off my parts XJ & put it in the mail.

Ralph, can you find me the mounting hardware for a '97 up left front, fender flare?
