Trying out a different image host. Still keeping my Photobucket account, but FotoTime I can access from work (at least until IT catches on & blocks it)

Here's an oldie, but still one of my favorite pics. Wife took this a couple of years ago.

And full-sized

Well, looks like Imageshack is a "trial period" and I suspect the links will die if I don't pay up.

SwiftPic.org claims to be a free image hosting site, don't know yet if it's compatible with the netnanny settings at work though.

Here are a few shots from the other day at work, we had light freezing rain for most of the day. This was mostly gone by the time I left for home @ ~7:30pm.

Last time I drove the Jeep to work I found a serious puddle under the driver's rubber mat. No pic, but I did grab a handful of terrycloth rags & soak most of the water up before driving.

I'd noticed what looks like water on the speaker grill of the driver's door, so tore the door panel off to see what I could find.

Near as I can tell, the wind-wing has been leaking & running down the inside of the door panel, thus missing any chance to make it into the door proper and finding it's way to the door drain holes. I smeared silicone grease all over the wind-wing gasket, we haven't had enough rain to tell if this has helped.

The other thing I've noticed lately with the driver's door is the speaker has been cutting in & out, I figured the wires in the hinge area were probably broken & I'd need to pull new speaker wires.

When I pulled the speaker & looked at the wires this is what I found...

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, but you can probably see the problem.

Yes, the connector was crimped on the insulation and the only connection being made was where the "tail" of stripped wires were up against the speaker connector.

This is the first, and hopefully last time I've ever seen crimp connectors done this way. I'm surprised this worked for as long as it did.

Most of the photos aren't coming up. What's wrong with photobucket again? Works great for me.

Photobucket has been acting up for me lately. It took over twenty minutes & multiple attempts to upload a few photos a couple of weeks ago. Add in the fact that it's blocked by IT where I work and I decided to try to find an alternative.

I have always been a fan of IMGUR as it allows higher resolutions to be saved.

Adjusted my Boostwerks t-case shift linkage last night. This is one job where an assistant would really make a difference! What a pita. One nice thing though, once correctly adjusted it shouldn't need any attention (unless I bend my IRO crossmember, highly unlikely.)

Jeep has been idling high (12-1500 warm) for a while now so tonight I attempted to adjust my TPS, hoping that was the culprit.

Using Cruiser's tips as a guide, I checked ground (OK), and took a reference reading. Reference voltage * .17 (17%) gave a target voltage of .81v.

Adjusted TPS to .81v, started Jeep. 3500 RPM!

Followed Cruiser's "high idle after TPS adjustment" instructions. Idle comes down @ ~.4v, re-adjust to .81v per the instructions. Idle is fine, until I shut it off & restart, 3500!!

Did this a couple of times, finally ended up leaving TPS @ ~.4v. (it was ~.3 when I started, so...progress?)

Open to suggestions. I can't find any vacuum leaks, IAC seems to be working, O2 sensor is less than 6 months old.

Anyone else run into this with a Renix engine?

My only renix engine was stripped to use the block for a stroker build and now has a HO head running FI in an early YJ that came with a carb... So technically yes, but not really haha. Do you have a reference for what you used to adjust your TPS though? I would love to give it a read.

If you aren't familar with Cruiser54, your introduction is way overdue. This man is a true Renix guru. IIRC he was a service manager "in the day" and has collected the notes & service bulletins (his and others) from that era and has compiled these in the form of a "book" on his website.

His "mostly Renix tips" (among others) is often mentioned in the various forums.

I have heard the name but never been to the website. It's bookmarked in my tech section now, thanks. Good luck with your idle issue.
