2000 XJ - Driver Seat Change - Any Suggestions?

I am thinking or hoping there might be a Driver Seat from another Year, Make, Model vehicle that will come close to fitting easily in this rig - a 2000 XJ. (I don't mind a few modifications to get it to mount correctly)
(I prefer a Much Firmer seat and back rest than what this Stock jeep has.)

Thank You,
Bo

Most popular swap is the Grand Cherokee seats. ZJ that is. But I doubt firmer is what you will get. I’m interested in Patriot seat swapping but haven’t been brave enough to buy a set and try it yet. They are quite firm with manual lumbar adjustments.

WJ Grand Cherokee seats are firmer and more comfortable.

+1

Just make sure the ZJ or WJ seats you get have the manual recline option. Most Laredo cloth seats had this. An electric recline could be made to work, but is a real PITA.

All years.
1993-98' ZJ.
1999-2004' WJ.

p.s. WJ leather seats are like sitting on your couch.

a Soft couch or a Firm couch?

I will do some searching at my local Pick-n-Pull for WJ and ZJ seats.

I have had a few Retired Police Dodge Chargers in the past (a 2006, 2 2008's, and a 2009) and the seats in those cars were Perfect for me, Very Firm, heavy duty seat cover material for no tearing or punctures and 8 way electric adjustable Loved Those Seats! They were all Black in color which is the color I want since the interior on this jeep is black.
Now that I think about it... my 2008 Toyota fj cruiser Also had a very firm seat, heavy duty non tearing material and all those seats come in black from factory, no power though, manual adjustment only, I may just look for one of those seats too.

Thank You,
Bo

Probably softer than you would like, but they were 15 years old at the time. They were heated too. My firm TJ seats hurt my back on long trips.

I’ve driven many a Police Charger. Prior to 2011 those seats do seem a little firmer.

Besides the seats that I mentioned that I would look for ….. I found some 2018, 2019 & 2020 Grand Cherokee Electric Driver Seats (w/ passenger seat and rear seats). One set of Front Seats were Cloth which is what I prefer over leather.
From the pictures in the ads... it looks like the Front Mounting would some extra work
But with some Heat, and a drill hole thread tap I ought to be able to fit them into place.

Thank You,
Bo
