1990 Cherokee

Assuming the rust isnít bad is there reason not to purchase a 1990? I have a daily already but this would still be driven a good amount on road and definitely off road. The oldest Xj ive owned was a 97í

I was just going to say that. Be careful of the fool that repeats himself in his advertisement. I think I would stay away from that one.

Good looking XJ, where's all the midwest rust?

No real reason not to. It looks clean. I'd check Cruiser54 Renix tips. Member here. My '88 Comanche had good power. If clean and those miles, that is a good price.

So it does have some small holes in the floor and the rockers are rusted through. I ended up walking but he now has it listed at 2300 so Iím still considering it. Mainly nervous about the fact it has about 2.5in of play in steering wheel and Iím not familiar with how closed cooling works

Closed cooling isn't bad if the system is maintained. The steering could be a number of things. Have him start it and move the steering wheel around. Look at the steering components to see where the play is.

A lot of the new cars have closed cooling systems. Also, you can convert to Open Cooling system. As noted the slop in the steering can be many things. The steering gear box also, is part of that. I'd add up those parts and see what that price would be. I'd tend to walk at this point.
