Does anyone have the weight and/or specs on the LJ hardtop? Im going to be getting one and am in the process of making something very similar to the Lange Original one... thanks

It's pretty heavy. I only use mine in the winter. it looks big and bulky compared to regular TJ's IMO. so I got a safari top and duster.

if your LJ didnt come with the hardtop (mine did) then you will need to get the wiring kit for the wiper and defroster. Not too sure how you would mount the switches. ALSO, hardtop jeeps come with bigger rear springs stock.

as for what you asked for, well i'm not too sure.

my estimates are around 250lbs, stock TJs run around 150 lbs i believe. theres quite a bit more side glas and extra ribbing. I used a block & tackle pulley setup to get mine on and off, going to an electric hoist soon.

the TJ top is 175lbs if i am not mistaken, which would let me guess the LJ top being close to 250.

its not the weight thats the issue, its just really awkward. it would definitely be a 3 man job

Check your springs to see what the labels are, then compare with LJ hardtop owners'.

It does not weigh 250 pounds. Maybe 150 at most. my brother and i picked it up over our heads with my wife hold ing the front "light" end to hang it up and it more bulky than heavy. The two people on the sides where the glass is are doing all of the work. One extra person on the front just balances the front from dipping.
