Should I fix or salvage....

I'm in a bit of a tough spot. Long story short I have a damaged Jeep. Repair bill is around $20k. Won't be totaled. Owe a bit more than that.

Scrap it (run) or fix it?

16 Sahara 60k miles

I know it's not a lot of detail. Just looking for opinions. Thanks.

How will that not be totalled?

What's it's worth as is?

If you owe over $20K, and you need 20K to fix it, how do you come out ahead?

Total Loss Value is at 24.5
Actual Value is around 30 (not damaged)
Owe 28

Salvage value is 9.
Insurance is paying 20 minus ded (5).

Garage
That'll buff right out. New bumper and grill and run it

Get out and explore.

As long as the frame isn't tweaked, it's really not that bad.

Bumper, hood grill, radiator, AC condenser, radiator support and maybe some other misc stuff. All of that is bolt on and pretty easy to get to.

Replace the AC Dryer and orifice tube, then recharge the system.

With some luck, you will find a white take off hood and Sahara bumper on CL. As a DIY job, it's not $20K, for a shop (unless the frame needs attention), it could be.

They will pay you $19,500 and value is 9K. You have $28,500 of $$ if you take the insurance and you sell it as salvaged. That leaves you $500 ahead.

Check and see what all really needs to be fixed. Paint and body work are expensive. If you can live with a less than perfect looking jeep it may cost less than 20K to fix.
