Best Year TJ?

I was wondering if there was a particular year out of the tjs that didn't have may problems. I will be getting one for my next vehicle(never had a Jeep). I will be getting an automatic and looking to spend about 6,500-8,500 ish. Willing to spend a little more if I find something good. Will be my daily driver and weekend warrior vehicle.

Thanks.

Overall TJs are getting older. Personally, maintenance, modifications, overall condition, price, etc. of a potential purchase would be what I would focus on. If you find something, you can ask about that particular year just to understand any issues. Pretty much everything has a solution.

If you have never had a Jeep, you want one that is mechanically pristine and preferably stock unless you want to work on it and the have the ability. My 2003 was in great shape but still had some issues over the first couple years. I learned a lot.

Oh!! Is that a year without ugly fenders and lights? Or do 03s just have leaf front springs?

TJ opinions don't include YJ squares.

Fixed that for you.

p.s. That troll had a square headlight wrangler??? They fixed that defect in 1997 for a reason.

LOL
...my headlights are in a 1960s grille, so they are quite stylish. And round.
That way if I get a gumption to go square somewhere I could upgrade if I wanted to go square again. 8-)

I'm installing a headlight upgrade this week to make my 03 even more outstanding. Most any year TJ or YJ for that matter, will become more valuable as the demand increases for simpler, easier to work on, Jeeps for the trails. My advice is look for a bone stock, 4.0 I6, low mileage Jeep and be ready to pay the price. Really nice examples don't sit very long.
