Please advise - looking to buy a Jeep CJ5

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a 1980 Jeep CJ5 and need some advise.

Some of the pictures of the undercarriage showed some oil, so I asked the dealer about it and he said "There are a few little spots on the floor. It has sat in the same spot for at least a few days. I did not see any excessive leaking. "

I'm not sure if I should go ahead or not.

Please help!!

~John

I wouldn't buy a CJ from a dealer, you'll get a much better deal buying private party.

The most important question you need to ask is can you wrench on it yourself? If the answer is no then a CJ isn't for you.

Adam013085 hit the nail on the head, if you can't wrench on it your self you'll be happier and save your self heart ache to get something newer '91 or newer YJ or TJ or even JK.
