looking at 06 Rubi decked out

Couple questions:

1.) Says 24U preferred package. What is that?
2.) Any recurring problems with this model I should know about?
3.) It supposedly has only 25k miles on it... hard to believe.
4.) Anything else I should know?

24U is 4.0l with auto tranny. 25u is 4.0l with manual tranny.

2006 could have OBDA issues, oil pump drive assy. Do a search under TJ tech forum.

Ask about miles, may have been a tow behind RV vehicle, does not register when towed. Or just not driven much.

Also from my understanding from reading this forum, parts for the Rubi TJ lockers are hard to come by.

I am multi-talented, I can talk and piss you off at the same time.

I've had an 07 and now have an 06. The 4.0L in the 06 is night and day compared to the 3.8L. I'd definitely go with the 06.

06, all day. Especially with such low miles.

Would depend on what "well equipped and modified nicely" meant as it related to each one. Devil is in the details.

Only get a JK a if you plan to swap the engine or if it is a 2012+ with the 3.6

Not sure I would dismiss all JK's between '06 and '12. There are a good many people that are very happy with those models, me among them. There are a few of them on the road still. The 3.8 may not be perfect, but it still keeps plugging along!
