Green def looks better, but what mods/upgrades do both have? Also price. Is green a Rubicon?

2008 Black Rubicon.

Less molested, hardtop, better gearing (unless the other was regeared), selectable lockers, 1 year newer, 9k less miles, for only $2,000 more.

You can probably get a brand new one for a few grand more that hasn't been messed with. If not, my recommendation would be to find one that is still in stock form (or close) and make it what you want it to be.

Previously owned: 80 CJ-5, 97 TJ,99 XJ, 95 YJ,10 JK Rubicon Unlimited, 10 JK Sport

Brand new Rubicon would add about $15k+ to the price and a base model will be around $5+ more.

The cost of the used Jeeps was the main factor in my decision to get a new base model and make it what I want.

If you just want to get into a Jeep and are not worried about having a Rubicon or Sahara, getting a new base model with 3.73's would be worth considering. If your financing, you'll have lower interest rates for a longer term so there probably wouldn't be much of a difference in the monthly payment.

The less that is done with it the better off your are. If you get one that is completely decked out you could possibly be inheriting someone's major problem. That being said I think the Rubi is the better purchase of the two.

The one with the least amount of scratches on the skid plates. And, but the looks of the blingy side steps on the Rubicon I'm going with that one. Probably never saw a trail in it's life.

Ex - 2001 Wrangler, 2" BB, 32" BGF AT's. JKS Quicker Disconnects, Oil Pan Skid, Steering Box Skid. Hard Top, Soft Top, Safari Top, Olympic Mountaineer Rack.

Current - 2008 Unlimited Wrangler Rubicon. Rock Krawler Stock Mod 2.5" lift, 35x12.50x15 Cooper STT's on Pro-Comp D-Windows, Husky Floor Liners, Mastercraft Grab Handles, Weathertech Side Window Deflectors, Hitch mounted D-Ring, Rancho Oil Pan Skid, Rugged Ridge E-Disco Skid, and a Skid Row Evap Canister Skid plate.

It is better to keep one's mouth shut and be thought a fool.... than to open it and remove all doubt.

Do you NEED a Rubicon in New Jersey?

You are around the price of a new Wrangler Sport.

All 4WD Jeeps require an inordinate amount of maintenance. The cost depends
on how much of the work you can do yourself.

In your area the main problem with 7 year old jeeps is rust, both tub and frame.
That is MUCH more of a factor than whether or not you buy a Rubicon.

Hey guys, there is NO SUCH THING as RPMS. There is NO "S" in RPM.
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but not nearly as much as ignorance.
