First time buying a Jeep

I'm looking for some advise about buying a YJ Sahara Jeep Wrangler for my first self-bought, vehicle. I am hoping to find one (very hard in my area!) and start driving it soon. However, most of the older Jeep Wranglers I've found in my part of town are manual, which I absolutely cannot drive. Have any of you converted a manual to automatic? If so, do you have any tips about where to start? I'm not familiar with the technical aspects, so I will have to have to have it done at a shop if it's even possible...
Thanks in advance!

Just wait and buy an automatic. Not sure how much it would be to convert but sounds expensive. If u do the work yrself is one thing but to pay another to do it ??? $$$$

Manual to auto would be replacing the transmission and everything included. That's 2-3 thousand easily at a shop and by no means worthwhile.
