Buying an '88 Wrangler

Anything I should know about this older beast before I pull the wallet out.
Decent priced at 2800. I believe its been sitting for several years as an eventual project that the seller didn't get to.

Not sure of the specifics yet.
- obvious tire and wheel upgrade
- no spare carrier but it also needs a bumper so that will go hand in hand
- definitely an Arizona Jeep since I actually cant find any rust
- stripped fenders
- 3" lift - looks like maybe procomp spring lift

It looks rough even for the price. I'd offer lower. Lots of work needs to make it look nice and be functional. Especially if it's been sitting for a while. Figure it will need all the fluids replaced, full tune up (air filter, plugs, wires, etc). If it needs tires, bumper and fenders, etc. Your easily over 2 g's with everything mentioned.

OK there sits another question. I really want to start it, so what is a safe way of doing that not knowing how long it's been sitting. Thank fully in that regard it's carbureted(sp?). Although I'd rather have MPFI.

If it's been sitting a long time with the same gas, the carb probably needs to be rebuilt or at least cleaned thoroughly. It wouldn't be a bad idea to drain and clean the tank. Check the oil. I should be replaced. Like I said earlier, I wouldn't feel comfortable driving too far without changing all the fluids.

Sold

Well we (the seller and I ) tinkered with it to get it to turn over on new gas and its a sale. Towing it home, a whole 2 miles, Monday or Tuesday. Got him down on price and he is throwing in a few parts he had and obviously has no need for now.
Let the wrenching begin.
