I’m looking to trade/ sell my tj and get a jku. I went to dealer and was looking at a bone stock 2010 jku sport with 109k I talked them to my rusty tj and 14 but went on fb and found that would be way to much so I would do like 12k without my tj or my tj and 8k. What do you guys think?

So they are giving you $4K for your TJ?

My guess is you can get a lot more than $4K privately. The questions are:

Do you want to attempt to sell your TJ privately?
Can you swing the JK without the TJ's trade value?
What is the tax consequences if you don't trade the TJ? Tax on the JKU will be determined by either a) the sale price without the trade or b) on the sales price - TJ trade value.

I'm not a fan of the 3.8L motor on the 2010 but it's better than the 2.5L on the TJ.

The tjs a 4.0 but the ax15 but the driver side floor board and torque box is rusted out the passenger side floor board is rusted and the frame is on its way out I think. I really want a jku rubi but they are very spendy lol and I’m planning on keeping it for a long time. Also being military I don’t have to pay sales tax in N.C so that helps a lot

No sales tax is a good thing.

Sorry, I misread the first post. I thought the 14 was I4.

If it's rusted that badly, it might just be in your best interest to trade it.

Ya it was originally a Ohio jeep and I don’t want to in lack of better terms screw a future jeeper over. I did not know enough about it when I bought it my fault but it was a rental and had like 7 owners

Looking at your pictures, I would say that is a Sport S and not bone stock sport.

It's got a 430 radio, power windows and it looked like an EVIC also.

If you get the VIN, we can look at it's build sheet to see what options and gears it has.

I tried to do my tj plus 8k and it didn’t work 😂 or my tj 13k and they put a lift and tires on it also didn’t work😂. What would be a good deal for this thing?

What are they asking for it?

$16K is mid range for what it's worth. so if you could get it for around $12-13K with your TJ in trade, it's fair. If you don't like that price, you may have to walk and keep looking. Personally, I would see if you could find a 12+. You might need to forgo the power interior and 430 radio but you get a much better engine/transmission combination.

It's going to run you around $3K for lift, tires and wheels, depending on what you want.

I passed it going to look at a 11 Sahara tonight, it’s not going to be a hard core trail rig mostly a mall crawler / beach rig. I want a 12 and up hit there too damn expensive around here

Careful, a 2011 has the new interior, but still the 3.8 and 4 spd auto. Some 3.8ís run forever, but many eat oil. 2012 and up is the new and more powerful 3.6.

Well I ended up not going for a jku at all even a jk lol I found a 05 rubicon with 108k for the right price and jumped on it. Now the question to keep the 37s or downsize to 35s

To downsize to 35's or keep 37's. Well, that's going to depend on how much highway driving you are going to do with it and if off roading, how you plan to use it there. Red and hard black rocks and trails, keep them but if that's not what you want to do, 35's are going to be a better choice.
