2018 GC Choices

I'm new to the Jeep world. I've been looking for a 2018 GC with a diesel purely for the fuel mileage difference. It will be a run around car and towed behind a MH. With that in mind and the shrinking inventory choices I'm wondering if the plain 6 cyl would be just fine ??

Not a lot of choices in diesel but still seems like the 6 cyl is around. I like the Summit trim in the grey color. Suggestions / comments on my choices ? Anything to watch for or avoid ??

TIA
Michael

The diesel is not the best choice if you are just running around in it. The particulate filter needs to be regenned much more often if you are not running it at temp for long periods of time.

The Pantastar is a fine motor and has plenty of go to if . I have a 17 Trailhawk with the Pentastar and it does all I need it to do.

Still I had forgot about the emissions crap that drives the second tank for DEF.

With that type of use, the oil burner would be fine. You won't be filling the particulate filter up like around town driving does.

Garage
I have a 2018 Grand Cherokee Limited. I have the V6 gas. It has plenty of giddy up. For a runaround vehicle I would prefer gas. If I was putting miles on and doing runs of 30 miles or more at a time, then I would look hard at a diesel.

For flat towing and all that, I would seriously look at the 3.6 gas.
