2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee buy or stay away?

Hello everybody! I’m new to this forum. I’ve never owned a Jeep before, but looking to get one. I’ve been hearing a lot of bad stories and some good feedbacks about the 2011-2013 WK2 models and wanted to hear from current owners. I’m specifically interested at the HEMI since I heard that it’s more reliable and durable. I’m looking to get the limited version as the Overlands have many issues with their Quadra lift. Well, that’s all. Please let me know what do you think and if it’s a good vehicle or should I look for something else instead. Thanks!

If you can afford a 2014+, I would look at those. There was several changes between the WK2 gen1 and WK2 gen 2 that make the 14+ a better value.

The limited is a good value and with the steel spring suspension, reliable. Because the Pentastar wasn't available in 2011, the Hemi is the way to go.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. Don’t the 2014s have also issues with their transmission?

That was software issues. Thats been straightened out now.

2014 was the first year of the 8 Speed transmission. Now that it's dialed in, it's a heck of a transmission.
