FS 99 Cherokee Sport XJ
4.0, auto, 248,xxx miles. 2” budget boost, aftermarket rims with 31” tires (not much tread left), Thule roof rack, hitch receiver (no factory tow package). Runs great, shifts great, 4wd works great (indicator light gets stuck on “full time” sometimes when shifted back into 2wd).
Was involved in minor accident. Estimate was for $2600 but I’m fairly certain it could be fixed for much less. Jeep has CLEAR IOWA TITLE in hand. Most of damage was to driver’s side rocker and driver’s door. See pictures.
Rest of the Jeep is what you would expect from a Midwest driven Jeep with those miles. Previous owner put some sheet metal on the lower part of the doors and rockers to cover rust. Rust bubbling behind passenger rear tire. Rest of the body is fairly rust free though. Frame is solid!
I hit a deer before the accident and pounded the fender and front bumper back with a rubber mallet. Deer damage also took out the A/C condenser and I never replaced it. Did replace the radiator at that time.
Jeep will need tie rod ends; it has an aftermarket steering setup and I’m honestly not sure what it is or else I wouldn’t have put off TRE’s this long. Passenger side ball joint/joints need replacement to the point I wouldn’t drive it far (should be fine for a test drive).
Is also due for an oil change.
Haven’t owned this thing long but it’s been great to me and would make a great project.
Shoot me and offer. Located in NE Iowa, ZIP Code 50466
